Dr. Kara Manning

I am a licensed psychologist specializing in chronic pain, chronic illness, and persistent fatigue in adults across Texas. I earned my Ph.D. in clinical psychology from University of Houston, where I received extensive training in evidence-based treatments and health psychology.

I completed my predoctoral internship and postdoctoral fellowship at VA Boston Healthcare System, a nationally recognized medical center known for its excellence in behavioral medicine and integrated healthcare. During my training there, I worked closely with interdisciplinary medical teams to support individuals coping with complex medical conditions, chronic pain, trauma, and long-term health challenges.

My clinical approach is grounded in research and informed by years of experience in medical settings. I integrate cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), acceptance-based approaches, and mind-body strategies to help clients regulate their nervous systems, reduce symptom-related distress, and improve daily functioning.

Living with chronic pain or fatigue can feel isolating and overwhelming. My goal is to provide a compassionate, collaborative space where your symptoms are taken seriously and your experiences are validated. Together, we focus on building practical skills, increasing resilience, and helping you create a meaningful life — even in the presence of ongoing health challenges.
